I have just published my third book The Hurricane. It is my first professionally published book in a series describing my passage through life. The poems come from the heart of one who believes in reincarnation. The title relates to the turmoil involved in the growth experience. The hurricane’s fury, its circular, cyclic pattern, and the calm achieved at its core are used as a metaphoric structure for the groupings in each chapter. The emotional aspects of life: new beginnings, tears of joy, storm like rages, and death with its peaceful or rough ending, is explored. The verses come from a woman’s perspective, a twentieth century woman: born just after WWII, scarred by childhood trauma, male dominated religion, the horrors of Vietnam and Kent State. Within, we see her struggle to do more than survive, but, to prosper in the twenty-first century.
